Patent Reform Would Reinvent Office

While the fate of the first patent reform in 60 years rests with Congress, the changes proposed in legislation would cause the Patent and Trademark Office to undergo a makeover.
With 2,000 patents filed every day and some 700,000 patents waiting for examination, a bill approved by the Senate on Tuesday aims to make the office function more quickly and effectively.
