Kirk: Work Ongoing On Trade Deals, Worker Assistance

As the debt-limit debate dominates the political landscape, U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk said Wednesday that work is ongoing on three pending free-trade agreements and a worker-aid program.

Although Kirk didn't provide a time line, he said Congress and the White House are still working toward a deal to move Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) along with the three agreements with Colombia, Korea and Panama.
