Colombia Moving Forward On Trade-Deal Requirements

Colombia has completed its next batch of requirements to improve its labor laws as part of an agreement to move forward on a trade deal with the United States, trade officials said Monday. 

U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk announced that Colombia has completed the second stage of an action plan slated for completion by June 15 that includes legislation establishing a separate Labor Ministry to provide better institutional capacity to protect labor rights.
