Talks with Congress on restoring benefits for trade-related job losses have progressed enough for lawmakers to begin informal debate toward passing trade agreements with South Korea, Colombia and Panama, U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk said Monday.
Following continued negotiations over the weekend, differences between the Obama administration and Republican lawmakers have "narrowed substantially" on renewing funding for workers displaced by trade, Mr. Kirk said in an interview.
