WASHINGTON, DC –Technology CEO Council (TCC) issued the following statement today regarding the introduction of legislation that would establish a working group to examine security and privacy related to the Internet of Things (IoT):
“The Internet of Things (IoT) and the proliferation of “smart” devices will fundamentally change the way that consumers go about daily life and the way that business is conducted,” said TCC deputy director C.R. Wooters. “However, in order to fully realize the benefits of this technological revolution, the U.S. should have a policy framework that accelerates the development and deployment of the IOT while protecting against its misuse.
The Technology CEO Council applauds the bipartisan leadership demonstrated by Sens. Fischer, Booker, Ayotte and Schatz in calling for this interagency working group and we look forward to working with them to help broaden lawmakers’ understanding of the benefits of the IoT in areas like transportation, healthcare, manufacturing and government.”
